Data protection and Copyright
All contents published in the learning platform (corporate identity layout, texts, pictures, figures, tables, graphics, lectures etc.) are protected by copyright. The use of this information is protected by copyright laws and requires the prior explicit approval both of the European School of Oncology and Ulm University. This applies especially for the distribution, alteration, translation, copying, processing or reproduction of information on database or other electronic media and systems.
All contributors are requested to adhere to all copyright laws. Contributors should provide images, illustrations, sound files, video sequences, and texts of their own creation, or to use images, illustrations, sound files, video sequences, and texts from the public domain.
All registered trademarks and brand names of the Programme are subject without restrictions to all regulations pertaining to the registration and property rights of their respective owners.
Contents of the learning platform (learning management system Moodle)
The content of the learning platform is intended as an educational tool. It is designed for oncology professionals and other physicians focused on oncology admitted to the Programme.
However, the European School of Oncology and Ulm University bear no responsibility to whether the content, or the content of linked websites, is accurate or complete. Even though the platform includes scientific and medical information, it is not designed to provide medical advice and no responsibility can be assumed to whether the medical information is complete, exhaustive or accurate.
The learning platform contains lectures and materials aimed at providing new knowledge and competences. These materials remain property of the authors/lecturers or the European School of Oncology and Ulm University respectively. Each author continues to retain the rights to reproduce the specific images and text which he/she provided. Admitted participants are granted permission to view and download the presentations and pdf files as appropriate; for any other use, they must seek permission both from European School of Oncology and Ulm University.
Lectures from any single author or multiple authors may not be reproduced without the written consent of that author.
In turn, authors are required to ascertain and respect the copyright property of the information they provide in their presentations and to include the source of such information.
The European School of Oncology and Ulm University are not responsible for any injury and/or damage to persons or property as a matter of a products liability, negligence or otherwise, or from any use or operation of any methods, products, instructions or ideas contained in the Programme. Because of the rapid advances in medical sciences, we recommend that independent verification of diagnoses and drugs dosages are made.
Every effort has been made to accurately reproduce the material as submitted. However, no responsibility is accepted for errors and omissions.
The European School of Oncology and Ulm University do not endorse any opinions expressed in the Programme.
Within the learning platform, personal data are collected and processed on log files as well as in the participant’s personal account, profile and login information. The data is collected for the sole purpose of internal quality assurance and mentoring the students' learning processes as required by the Programme.
Information for the handling of personal data by the European School of Oncology
Under the Legislative Decree 196/2003 which refers to personal data protection, please be informed herewith that:
Personal data which you have supplied to us will be used electronically and otherwise, for internal and external use, for information purposes exclusively or when drawing up documents to register/participate in training courses run by our School and when sending out publicity material on current and future activities of the School. Data will be processed both confidentially and securely in compliance with the legislative norm.
Should consent not be provided, we might not be able to carry out your requests. The School will not publicise your personal data but will use it solely for the activities of the European School of Oncology and your specific requests both in Italy and abroad.
Your rights in relation to the personal data we use, are outlined in Article 7 DLGS 196/2003.

Data protection policy of Ulm University
According to the §11 of the LDSG of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, regarding the code for the protection of personal data, we would like to inform you that the personal data supplied by you and in our possession will be used both in terms of electronic use and without, for internal use and by supplying it to external structures, exclusively based on the demand for information or contract development, in particular for the purposes inherent in subscribing/taking part in training activities held at our Ulm University and in sending informative material relating to current or future activities of the Certificate of Competence in Breast Cancer Programme.
The handling of data will be carried out so as to guarantee that current legislative norm is enforced. In the case of you not consenting to the handling of personal data it will be impossible to carry out your requests. The Ulm University will not publicize personal data, however, communicating data or of part of it, both on German territory and abroad, is always and only in relation to the activities of the CC Programme in Breast Cancer and to your specific requests. Your rights in relation to the data we handle are specified in §11 of the LDSG of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The holder of data is the Ulm University, 89069 Ulm, Germany. You can contact the person in charge of the treatment of personal data: Abt. III-2 Recht, Struktur und Verwaltungsorganisation, Helmholtzstraße 16 E16b, 89081 Ulm, Germany, to validate your rights regarding the treatment of personal data.
Professional confidentiality agreement
Participants will be asked to sign the following declaration:
I was informed that I am bound to the medical confidentiality, according to § 203 Strafgesetzbuch (criminal code). As a student of the Certificate of the Competence in Breast Cancer programme I am allowed to attend seminars, conferences and practical workshops, where individual-related patients’ data might be presented.
According to § 6 Landesdatenschutzgesetz (Federal Data Protection Act), I was informed that it is not permitted to collect and work with individual-related patients’ data during the Programme and after the Programme is concluded. In detail, participants are not authorised to the:
- Collection, record, and notice of personal data
- Transmission of data to third parties inside or outside of the hospital
- Removal of data
Infringements of the above mentioned restrictions will be regarded as a regulatory or criminal offense and be punished by exclusion of the study programme.
I accept and adhere to the above regulation.
Lecturers will be asked to sign the following declaration:
I was informed that I am bound to the medical confidentiality, according to § 203 Strafgesetzbuch (criminal code). As a lecturer of the Certificate of Competence in the Breast Cancer programme I am allowed to present lectures and materials at seminars, conferences or workshops which will be uploaded to the programme platform, where individual-related patients’ data are presented.
Nevertheless, it is essential to ensure that patients are not, and cannot be identified in any of the materials presented.
